i was soo bored for a while because i didn’t have anything great to read. i read curse of lono that i got jules for his b-day after he was done. and that was fun, but very short. after that i just re-read a couple of things. but then dee introduced me to gaiman, so i bought coraline and it was great. then he lent me his sandmans (see below), which i must again state is sooo super cool of him. and when i visited indreia, she let me borrow skinny legs and all, which i’ve been wanting to read for about a year. had a slumber party a couple of nights ago at michele’s house, and she gave me a new edward gorey book and the heart is deceitful above all things, the 2nd jt leroy book. this book is great. well, i’ve only read the first section (it’s 10 different stories), but jt leroy kicks ass. i love it when someone has the ability to appall and amuse you all at once. you really should check out sarah, his first published novel. it’s about truck stop whores and raccoon penis bones and jackalopes, etc. how can you go wrong?!?!
oh, and i forgot to mention that someone lent jules a copy of good omens, by gaiman and terry pratchett. so now i have 2 novels, a collection of shorts, a gorey, and a huge pile o’ sandman to occupy my time. yay for fall!!!! it makes everything good!!

ps - it’s 46 degrees here today. AWESOME

i had a great time in richmond. hung out with dee for a bit. he burned a copy of coraline for me and very graciously lent me his sandman collection. neil gaiman chills with lemony snicket, how cool is that??

met up with rose at CvT’s house for a fitting. that went well, my dress is gonna kick ass!

then missy and i went out to dinner at banditos. i know, weird choice of eats, but i wanted to see brent mccucumber. and melissa union was our waitress, she gave us our dinner and drinks for free. yippee for birthdays.

then we went to indreia’s house, she was having a halloween beer bowling party. it was loads of fun.

and then, we went to richies for ann and andy’s wedding recepetion. that was pretty cool. but the best part was that i ran into tom. yay!! i hadn’t seen him in years. his girlfriend lives in chesapeake so he’s actually down here quite frequently. which is super fun because hopefully he will come over to play.

after that we went on a wild goose chase to hang out with ivey (which unfortunately included a trip to sticky rice). but they were being too drunk and unpredictable, so we gave up.

so i had a super great time and a really fun b-day. the only thing missing was my chairhead!!!!!

the neighbour scott i mean. tonight’s crazy antic: we were outside calling for oso (ahahaha, he was inside the whole time) and he peered out of his window and shouted “I see you, you can’t hide. ahahah” and then proceeded to come outside and talk to us in a high/drunken stupor. he’s crazy chairhead.

from a recent news headline:

For the first time in three days, Montgomery County Police Chief Charles Moose did not issue a public statement to the sniper. Earlier this week, he implored the sniper to contact authorities and continue a dialogue, and he suggested police were having trouble complying with undisclosed demands.

The latest message believed to be from the killer was a letter found not far from where bus driver Conrad Johnson, 35, was shot Tuesday, two law enforcement sources told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.

The message reportedly demands $10 million - the same request sources say was made in Saturday’s letter.

so, you know me, i haven’t really been too concerned with this situation, i’m very apathetic towards the world’s news. but this really pissed me off. it would be one thing if this sniper person was just some psycho out having a bit of fun, or doing it for an interesting cause. but demanding money?!?!? come the fuck on. what kind of pathetic idiot is this? go rob a bank or something, cuz you are wasting my time with your crap. haven’t we learned from history yet? you’re not going to get away with it.
ugh, i hate people.
