Yeah, your job sounds great. I hope I get to meet some of these fun people when I come out. Your boss seems to be quite a huge Squarepusher fan. mmmm, Drum & Bass for Papa. Now that’s one I haven’t played in a long time. I did just hear a Wagon Christ song though…….
Amoeba!! Amoeba!! Amoeba!! I can’t wait!!!
So, I had an emailversation with my dad today about my tattoo. It all started when I mentioned that I would like to see the kids since I’ll be so close to them. Anyway, here’s where the conversation went:
When one is with the Lord—they take the “self” out of themselves. That’s all I’m looking for w/my children. To have them become one with God. This “tattoo” area cannot be defended, man can say — do what you want — but God is God and he rules in the Heavens above. Once you realize this you’ll respect His beautiful art in creating you and then you’ll understand NOT to scar his beautiful art in creating your temple.
It’s wrong Charity — don’t justify it by saying it’s right for you and not for me. It’s wrong because it mocks the very body Our Heavenly Father created. Regardless of what I say or do — your choice has been made to go-on with this tattoo. I know this–but you have been taught and warned by your father. God holds me accountable for my teaching and lack of teaching to you five children. I’ve failed in my teaching because the child, you haven’t learned enough about our Lord NOT you go ahead with this body art-work. I will never take away your free-will and thinking. But, I will NOT sit by when my children make wrong choices as this one is.
My response (that shut him up, by the way… I haven’t heard back from him):
but you’re still not seeing it the way that i see it… i don’t see it as a mock of God’s work, but a celebration of God’s work. I love my body:)
Had the throw “God” in there… it’s like teaching a child how to count with bubblegum.

My boss went to Amoeba and bought these for me. He said I have to have them. Isn’t that awesome??!!

Woo-hooo!! The Cure boxset came out today.
I went downtown and got it from this new record store called Relative Theory Records. It’s a pretty cute place, I hope they can make it. The selection is interesting, perhaps even weird. When I went on Sunday, I saw some stuff that was really good, but nothing that I didn’t own already. Julio, on the other hand, found 4 cds to buy.
The guy that co-owns it is very nice. I asked about the new Cure and Air cds on Sunday, and when I went in today, the Air hadn’t come in yet. The guy (Jeff) let me have their promo copy instead. Whoopee!! Julio might even have an art show there….

I booked our flights tonight. Jared and I fly out Wednesday morning and get to LA around noon. Then, we’ll head to Las Vegas on either Friday or Saturday. So start restaurant hunting!!!
Travelocity is also now letting you choose meal options and seat preferences, just like Priceline. I just think that is soo cool. I would never bother to call the airline ahead of time, but doing it online is superb. Now I can at least scoff at my vegetarian meal that might have one good thing on it, instead of staring at some kinda chicken substance just so I can get the roll.
I especially like how they have the option for “bland” food. I’ve always felt that airline food has just too much flavour and it makes me so sad for the people who are sensitive to taste. There are just too many spices in the world and people use them so freely and carelessly. Here’s to bland food!!!
(weird)
yep, except for the brutal summer, so far Baltimore is on the brain. August 2005 sounds splendid.
I have some delicious ideas brewing in my head for our November trip abroad. I’ll let you know as soon as some more things solidify. :-)
