So, I had an emailversation with my dad today about my tattoo. It all started when I mentioned that I would like to see the kids since I’ll be so close to them. Anyway, here’s where the conversation went:

When one is with the Lord—they take the “self” out of themselves. That’s all I’m looking for w/my children. To have them become one with God. This “tattoo” area cannot be defended, man can say — do what you want — but God is God and he rules in the Heavens above. Once you realize this you’ll respect His beautiful art in creating you and then you’ll understand NOT to scar his beautiful art in creating your temple.

It’s wrong Charity — don’t justify it by saying it’s right for you and not for me. It’s wrong because it mocks the very body Our Heavenly Father created. Regardless of what I say or do — your choice has been made to go-on with this tattoo. I know this–but you have been taught and warned by your father. God holds me accountable for my teaching and lack of teaching to you five children. I’ve failed in my teaching because the child, you haven’t learned enough about our Lord NOT you go ahead with this body art-work. I will never take away your free-will and thinking. But, I will NOT sit by when my children make wrong choices as this one is.

My response (that shut him up, by the way… I haven’t heard back from him):

but you’re still not seeing it the way that i see it… i don’t see it as a mock of God’s work, but a celebration of God’s work. I love my body:)

Had the throw “God” in there… it’s like teaching a child how to count with bubblegum.
