The new Ninja Tune DVD that I got last time we were in New York had this really great song called “Insomniac Olympics” by Blockhead on it that Julio and I fell in love with. I had never heard of this guy and certainly didn’t know of any Ninja Tune releases by him.
His debut album, “Music By Cavelight” was just released last week so I promptly picked it up. I love it, of course. Turns out, he was the producer on Aesop Rock’s “Float” and “Daylight” albums. Hell yeah! (and no wonder “Bazooka Tooth” sounds so different)
How come I never knew about this before??
