The Great Adventure 2005 - Iceland & Spain
The plane tickets are booked. We leave for Reykjavik Wednesday night and get there early Thursday morning. Then we’ll leave there Sunday morning and head to Barcelona. We’ll be in Barcelona ’til Friday.

The Southern Spain/Morocco trip isn’t going to work out. It’s just too much traveling. We’d end up spending the whole trip traveling. We should definitely take the train to Madrid though. We could go for the day or even an overnight.

Forsæla Apartmenthouse
We’re all set in Reykjavik. We have reservations at the Forsæla Apartmenthouse. I think it looks absolutely adorable and the staff that I’ve talked with is really nice.

Check out the Visit Reykjavik site. It’s the “official tourist website of Reykjavik”. It seems to be a pretty good resource, especially for restaurants.

I also have a travel guide that I bought with lots of useful information. The first restaurant they list is Amigos, a mexican place. ahahah, yummmmm. I don’t think I’ll have as much of a problem eating there than I thought. Barcelona will be the tricky spot. I’ve read that they are the kind of people that consider beans cooked in stock to be vegetarian. gross! We’ll see.

Happy Thanksgiving from Ada

Ada came over yesterday for Thanksgiving and slobbered up the place. Soggy Cheerios and all.

*shiver*

Earla had her baby! Last Monday morning. He sleeps a lot, but is pretty quiet when he’s awake. He likes boobs. Of course.

Ada’s got the rapid-fire head twisting action!

Hitchhiker's Guide To The GalaxyOoooh, the website for The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy movie is finally up. It comes out in May.

Sam Rockwell is playing Zaphod Beeblebrox. Mmmmmmmm, Sam Rockwell. And Mos Def, Zooey Deschanel, and John Malkovich are in it too. Fun Fun Fun.

And it’s almost time for A Series of Unfortunate Events. We have a date with Anne and Julio.

But what’s become of The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things? I’ve been waiting forever. Apparently it showed at the AFI Fest last week. I wish it would hurry up and get off the festival circuit and get distributed.

Speaking of getting distributed, whatever happened to Arakimentari? Why don’t all the movies I want to see come out?!?!?!

November 18th, 2004

I’ve been bitching for months now about the lack of good hip hop being released, and the gods are finally starting to listen. The new Handsome Boy Modeling School cd rocks! I love every track, even the Cat Power one.

I made a new cd, my own little personal tribute to HBMS. It’s been fun. I haven’t listened to any of these guys in ages. You can listen to the mix here. Here’s the tracklist:

  1. Deltron 3030 - 3030
  2. Rahzel - Night Riders
  3. DJ Shadow - High Noon
  4. De La Soul - 3 Days Later
  5. J-Live - Satisfied?
  6. Moloko - Party Weirdo
  7. Beastie Boys - Get It Together
  8. Del the Funky Homosapien - Eye Examination
  9. Lovage - Pit Stop (Take Me Home)
  10. El-P - Constellation Remix
  11. Dr. Octagon - Halfsharkalligatorhalfman
  12. Company Flow - Collude / Intrude
  13. Cage - Agent Orange
  14. Prince Paul - Mr. Large
  15. Gorillaz / Clint Eastwood
  16. Kid Koala / Emperors Main Course

Plus this week, R.A. The Rugged Man’s debut album came out on Nature Sounds. I just ordered it. The clips I’ve heard sound promising.

Pee Wee

Whoopeee!!!! I got my Pee-Wee’s Playhouse DVD box sets a few days ago, and Pee-Wee’s Christmas Special last week. It’s so exciting. I’ve been watching an episode every day at lunch.

According to the website, he’s been all over TV lately. Letterman was last week. I bet that was funny. He’s supposed to be on Conan O’Brien tomorrow night. I better get my little battery powered TV all charged up and ready…..

(I hope I don’t forget to watch it)

RolleiFlex MiniDigi
Oh my god! This is the cutest thing that I have ever seen in my whole life! (Or at least the past few days).

The Rolleiflex MiniDigi.

It came out in Japan in March, and is supposed to be released here sometime at the end of November. It’s expected to retail around $350.

I must must must have one!!!
