Jules and I think we should go in May and just forget about the whole June thing. It would’ve been nice to have our “wedding” there, but it’s just too expensive in June. And I don’t want to be there for a week. Rather, I don’t want to pay to be there for a week.
We think it will be quite fun and appropriate to have our “honeymoon” before our “wedding” anyways.
I’ve been emailing with Hlin, and she said she’s got availability in May, we just need to let her know our exact dates. Staying with her is only about $30 a day more (per person), but I think it’s worth it. We’ll have our own kitchen and super-friendly information source. At a hostel we’re gonna have to eat out all the time and find transportation on our own.
I think we should go for 5 days / 4 nights. We should count on about $200 a day, and that may be a bit generous, but those day trips are probably pricey. I think we paid like $60 each to go to the Blue Lagoon for only two hours.
I’m up for using CouchSurfing for meeting folks, but I’m not staying at a stranger’s house. I’m a host, not a surfer. And Julio doesn’t even like to spend the night at a friend’s house, so he sure as hell won’t be staying at a stranger’s house.

not sure just yet, but maybe it will be at the new house.
or maybe i’ll be off having an affair with eugene! now that would be the proper way to start a marriage! yum.

Ok, let’s stay with Hlin for 5 days and 4 nights. It is worth the extra $30/night. We’ll bring $1,000 each and have ourselves a blast! Can we book it before February? I’m afraid prices will increase.

If you have your “wedding” at your house I better be invited or atleast for the party!!!!
Oh yeah, have I told you lately how jealous I am of all this traveling you girls do!! Really, pack me in your suitcase b/c I’m ready to get away!!

First of all - Crystal, you can come to my house any day of the year. We will have maragritas and sit on the back porch and listen to good music and eat yummy snacks and laugh about the VCU days.
And Chair - how about something like May 10-15? That would get us there Thursday morning. We would have that day to walk all around Reykjavik (which, you know, takes all of 10 minutes). Then we would have Fri, Sat, & Sun for day excursions. We would leave Mon afternoon, so perhaps we could spend lunch at the Blue Lagoon for a nice, relaxing, (but egg-salad-smelling) plane trip home.
Of course, we will go to the Blue Lagoon one night too.
I think Julio might get busy around late May to early June for graduations and weddings (not ours!), so early to mid May would probably be good.
If this is fine with you, I will book the tickets as soon as you say GO!
