We took a trip down to Asheville Tuesday to see Golem and Balkan Beat Box, again. This time we got to share the excitement with Alison and Nicole. Julio went too, but he’s an old grandpa, and he left during the opening act and went back to the hotel. Boo. Stupid toothache. He missed out, big time for real like.

It was another amazing show. Both of those bands are just so fun and perfect. My precious little guitarist from last time wasn’t with BBB, but I did get to drool over Tamir Muskat all night long. Damn. He’s good stuff.

They’re good stuff.

(for KJ)

Aughra
Damn it, I can’t believe YouTube isn’t crawling with Aughra videos, but maybe you can get the idea.

You really just need to watch the movie and understand.

Sounds like it’s time for another movie-night date!

Thank you, iTunes UK, for such a wonderful mistake. I’m enjoying the new Björk album as I type. I cannot wait for the official releases and concerts.

My feet are covered in bug bites.

I hate summer. I hate bugs.

I’ve been having myself an AbFab marathon tonight. After a few episodes, I couldn’t resist popping open a bottle of champagne. So easily tempted.

It was a bit too sweet for my liking, so I added pomegranate and cranberry extract to it. That way, I wasn’t being too terribly unhealthy.

We saw this sign today at a parking lot in Chesapeake. What does it mean?

Julio just called me to ask if I’ve managed to piss off any strangers on the internet today. I told him not yet, but not to worry, the day is young. I have confidence that I’ll manage to before the day is over.

No one sent me the memo that this is National Overreact To Random Shit On The Internet Week.

Today (well, technically yesterday since it’s now after midnight) was Linda’s 60th birthday. We threw her a surprise party at the house. It went off quite well. She hadn’t a clue. There were yummy drinks and snacks and a handful of her good buddies.

ps - when my mom dies, if you didn’t know her and you find a tidbit of humor in the situation, you go right ahead. i won’t feel the need to hunt you down and berate you about it. because, really, i’m just that cool of a person. some might even say i’m perfect. everyone’s so fucking sensitive this weekend.
