It was everything I had hoped for and more. I got to hang out with the best people and have the most wonderful moments every second. My only regret is not going in that store and seeing how much that dress cost. It still haunts me.
I just found Shady NAPPING IN THE LITTERBOX.
GROSS!!!!
My cats are totally losing it.
I gotta go drown her in the tub now….

So, my original flight to NYC was canceled and got rescheduled for a later flight that got me to NYC with no time for anything. And then that flight was late. I finally made it to the airport at 6:00 and had to wait another half hour for the shuttle.
I ended up having to go straight from the airport to the show, luggage and all. But I did end up finding James & Co and being right up front. Right up front! It’s been quite some time since I’ve been to a general admission Björk show where I was able to be right up front.
The show was completely awesome and amazing despite the fact that I was straddling my bags the whole time. The opening act was Santogold. I thought that they (she?) were loads of fun. I’ve never listened to M.I.A., but it’s what I imagine M.I.A. might sound like. Plus, Diplo was on hand to dj, and Spank Rock made a guest appearance. How could you go wrong with that?
The second band was The Klaxons - snooze.
Björk was so on point. It was the best show. I’m so excited that we saw this tour from the beginning and now again at the end. You can tell they’ve been having such fun with the songs. I’m looking forward to the new cd of tour recordings. Some of the new arrangements just kill me. Specifically last night’s versions of I See Who You Are and Wanderlust. The new beats… ahhh these new beats, they get me (so hard). Yum.
After the show we met up with Emma and ended up at some really expensive “diner” where we proceeded to get drunk. (I was quite in the mood for a drink after my not-so-fun travels) Then we headed to some bar that was showing gay porn and we randomly met up with James & Kevin’s roommate. We finally made our way back home and had super Dance Party USA in the bedroom singing PJ and Björk and The Glove at the top of our lungs until the sun came up and we passed out.
And today, after laying around until 4:00, we met up with OJ and dined at our ol’ fave, El Cantinero. Then we hooked up with Nora, Dan Giles, Nicole, Kiersten, Chris, & Lisa for an evening of drinking and talking and laughing and loving.
It’s been great.
Plus I snuck a quick visit to Other Music for some desperately needed new releases. Hee heee.
Eeeeeeeee!
My flight here was shitty. The concert was awesome. Awesome!
My night following was silly and fun. I spent the wee hours dancing and singing with James and Kevin (few people get to see me in PJ Harvey / Björk mode).
I’m already having the best of times, but I’ll fill you in later, for now I must slumber.
My flight was canceled. Now I won’t get to NYC ’til tonight and it will be a mad dash to the show.
To NYC and James and Kevin and Björk and Spank Rock and Mark Bell and Nora and Other Jared and Nicole and Kiersten and Chris and Lisa and Balkan Beat Box and Beirut and much, much needed good times.
PS - Chappers just reappeared to say farewell. Li’l Cutie.
Linda and I have been dealing with this new guy that moved into the condo earlier this month. His rent and deposit check bounced, and it has been impossible to get in touch with him.
I had the power turned off last week. Linda went over there and discovered he has a dog and a cat that were not allowed. A friend of his called on his behalf and said he had a family emergency in Maine and would be getting in touch with Linda this past Friday to straighten things out.
Yesterday she got a call from the property management company because our hot water heater was leaking. When she got there she learned from the next door neighbor that federal marshals had shown up earlier and arrested the guy. He had a warrant out for his arrest in Maine for fraudulent checks or something. So now he is in Norfolk jail.
And, apparently, some guy that works at Sam’s named Mike has been living there too.
So now we have to go through a lawyer and see if we can bypass the usual eviction routes considering this guy is in jail. I hope this all happens quick because that $1300 a month is very much needed right now.
