New Haircut

I was overwhelmed last week with the urge to cut off my hair. I called Andra right away and made a date, then spent four days bemoaning the length. It began to annoy me so much. It would get stuck in my armpits, get in my way when I was sleeping, I no longer felt like combing it after showering. I had decided it was time for it to go, and I could not wait for Sunday to arrive.

Now it’s light and short and requires minimal amounts of shampoo and conditioner. It’s so economical (for these trying economic times).

Andra gathered it all in a ponytail chunk so that I can send it off to Locks of Love. They do, in fact, accept dyed hair, just not bleached. And I haven’t bleached in over three years, so I’m sure all of that has been cut out by now.

Three Years New Haircut

Those that know me well enough know about my human cheese obsession (really, it makes SO much sense). Well, PETA has joined me and requested that Ben & Jerry’s make human milk ice cream. What a great idea. I would totally volunteer for that test kitchen.

B&J doesn’t seem to be running with the idea (fools!).

“We applaud PETA’s novel approach to bringing attention to an issue, but we believe a mother’s milk is best used for her child,” said a spokesperson for Ben and Jerry’s.

We believe a mother’s milk is best used for her child, and a cow’s milk is best used for… ice cream.

Wayne Martin Belger makes the most awesome 4”x5” pinhole cameras I have ever laid eyes on.

This one is called Third Eye and is made from a 150 year old skull of a 13 year old girl.

He has also constructed cameras using a baby’s heart, HIV+ blood (using the blood as a red filter, omg he rules), bug parts, antlers, and many other wonderful and random parts.

If Jared and I were to hop in a time machine, go back to 1964, and produce and nurture a spawn, it would totally be this guy. He is completely killing me right now. I am coveting like a maniac.

My very treasured birthday buddy made two super awesome mixes especially for me on his excellent podcast, DJ Cornbread’s Honeycomb Hideout. He knows just how to make me happy.

He’s a total dream and a husband for life. I may just have to return the favor one of these days… (tbc)
