While house sitting for Linda and Cameron last week, I took advantage of television central and watched both The Midnight Meat Train and Filth and Wisdom.
The Midnight Meat Train was recommended by Maria, and it did not disappoint. Yes, it was a silly, predictable horror movie, but aren’t those the best? It was so fun and I enjoyed every moment of it. Subway Monsters!
Filth and Wisdom was just as horrible as I expected it to be, but I still had to see it. I find Madonna to be absolutely ridiculous in just about everything she does, and so full of herself. Eugene Hutz, unfortunately, is just becoming a caricature to me, and no longer appeals (much like Johnny Depp). I wouldn’t say don’t waste your time, if you watched it we could then discuss its awfulness, but I wouldn’t go out of your way or even pay to see it.
I went to work last night to finally watch Burn After Reading. I found it to be rather bland. Kind of like a soup with no salt. Lots of fun actors with a potentially humorous story, but just lacking any oomph.
Tonight Heidi and I leave for New York for tomorrow’s big Martha Stewart day!
So, Heidi and I are going to NYC next Friday for the Martha Stewart Halloween Theme Show. So excited! We have to dress up as a statue, and I have yet to think of what to do.
We’re taking the Chinatown bus up Thursday night and will have to go right to the studio, so my costume has to be something relatively comfortable and easy to put on. Any suggestions?
This blooper real cracks me up. Oh, and hooray for little pink trees, who gets to go to the sure-to-be-awesome halloween show taping.

Honda showed off the new Insight Concept at the Paris Motor Show on October 4th. I don’t like it one bit. It’s huge and looks just like a Prius. What was wrong with the old Insight? Nothing I tell you! It was cute and perfect. Bring it back, please?
I bet it will be an automatic, too. The Insight was the only manual transmission hybrid Honda made. I can’t drive automatics. I do not like them.
Let’s hope the CR-Z turns out okay.
My Photojojo Time Capsule for October 9th to October 23rd, 2007.
All the kitties in cages. Guess it was flea spraying time. And the awesome, awesome, awesome cremation kit from Todd & Whitney.
I wished I had scanned it as opposed to a cameraphone picture, but this illustration cracks me up. Look at those teeth!
I had been wanting to go the shampoo-free route for some time, but there was no way I was going to attempt it with long hair. The thought of that greasy, grody mess hanging around all day was far too yucky. But since I cut it all off, I figured now was the perfect time.
I started Monday with my new baking soda and apple cider vinegar routine. It felt like I hadn’t washed my hair for a day, which was tolerable. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday it just got greasier and greasier and was feeling pretty gross. I read to expect the greasiness for a few weeks while your body is transitioning, so I’ve been wearing it pulled up all week, determined to make it through the transition phase.
I noticed yesterday when I got out of the shower, that it almost felt normal again. It was back to that “I haven’t washed my hair in a day” feeling. And I was shocked last night when I took my hair down how it felt. It was soft and no longer super greasy. I’m excited to see how it feels today. It’s happening way faster than I expected, but you will get no complaints from me about that.
There’s a really good write up about going shampoo-free here if you’re interested.
Now I’m off to shower…
