I got super excited Saturday when I saw packs of Polaroid 600 film at the CVS in Palmyra, until I picked one up and saw it was $20 per pack! Ridiculous.

I filled my car for less than $15.00. That hasn’t happened in years.

(hopefully) Victory Cookies

I made “sweet taste of success” cookies last night in anticipation of a victory party, and boy were they (and the victory) good.

After playing Fairey*, I headed to Six for the Al Jazeera broadcast and a date night with the dream team. Spirits were high and despite warning signs, there wasn’t a terrorist-obsessed redneck in sight. Instead just a crowd full of happy, positive people ready to kick the past miserable eight years to the curb.

* no one really seemed to get my fairey joke. oh well. i thought it was cute/funny

When the trailer first started I thought, “oh this looks like a typical, super-hyped, hollywood scary movie,” but then I glimpsed HIM and now I’m hooked.

Maybe I can trick Amanda into seeing it with me.

Dia De Los Muertos Shrine

Saturday night I attended Craig and Hannah’s Annual Day of the Dead Celebration. Hannah made tamales and green chile stew, and I took over a few mexican treats. It was so delicious, I stuffed my belly full of yumminess.

I ate tamales 3 times in one week. Oh masa joy.

Martha Stewart Halloween Show Martha Stewart Halloween Show
Martha Stewart Halloween Show Martha Stewart Halloween Show

Heidi and I took the quickest trip ever to NYC to see the Halloween broadcast of the Martha Stewart Show. It was pretty crazy and surreal and awesome. I can’t believe all the energy they pump into the world before 11 am. There must be a lot of coffee consumed in that studio.

We got to visit with James for a hot minute afterwards, and had lunch in Hell’s Kitchen at Tacocina. Then we headed towards Union Square and made our way to Pearl River Mart. After a brief happy hour stop in Little Italy, we were back on the bus and headed home.

There was a lot of fun packed into that 10 hour day.
