I broke down this week and purchased some shampoo and conditioner. After 3.5 months of trying to be shampoo-free, I caved. It’s not that my hair felt dirty, but it just didn’t feel nice. I suppose it felt the way hair is supposed to. But, damn it, I want that nice, silky, fake-feeling hair back. And, when I wasn’t shampooing, it didn’t smell like anything. I like it when I have fragrant hair to be my own personal air freshener.
I will still use my shampoo bars every few days to cut down on some of the plastic waste, but ultimately, my vanity wins out over environmentalism.

Wow, what a great 24 hours of acquiring I have had. Last night, Albee and I went out shopping and he spoiled me with new shoes, and a bag, and pretty makeup from Sephora, and new color for my head, AND a soft pretzel.
Then today I stopped by the completely amazing 2 Antique Dealers looking for a glass ashtray and scored two new cameras, two vintage pin-up mags (1936 and 1953), and two totally awesome old spice racks with little glass bottles that look like they should be filled with snips and snails and puppies dogs tails. Oh, and I found an ashtray. :-)
But don’t think it ends there. On top of all those wonderful items that now reside in my cozy little home, I also got A NEW PRESIDENT!

Florian Kaps, hero to all and creator of polanoid.net, has purchased the Integral Polaroid factory in Amsterdam and plans to continue the production of instant film.
Yay! Yippeee! Wooo Hoooo! Holiday! Tits!
The mission has been dubbed The Impossible Project, and even Ilford is involved.
So far it seems that it’s just 600-size integral film, so we’re still out of luck as far as 80-series pack films, but I’m not complaining. The newer holga polaroid backs will take 66x-series films in addition to 80-series, and Fuji still produces FP-100c. When my stockpile of 80-series runs out, it’s comforting to know I just need to upgrade my back.
Unfortunately, the ridiculously precious Mio and I-zones will continue just living on the shelves; but at least there are plenty of captured memories. My 600-size Polaroids have always been my favorites, so I am thrilled that they will continue to live on.
(i’m so grateful that there are non-polaroids and non-kodaks out there keeping the awesomeness of film going)

Showtime has the first episode of United States of Tara up for a free preview. I wouldn’t say that I love it just yet, but i do love Toni Collette, and the show seems to have potential. Hopefully it will be easy to find online after it airs, or maybe I can remember to dvr it at my mom’s house.
Okay, okay. I know I’ve already mentioned it, but that was so long ago. The Unborn comes out tomorrow. Scary and Gary, what more could a girl ask for? Hopefully I can get Amanda to have a Saturday night movie date with me.
I was looking for a specific photo this morning, and came across these old gems that brought a smile to my face, and a chuckle to my heart:
ahhhh, jackalope fun times
Nemmie fears that photographic evidence of his cuteness may cause the destruction of the earth and life as we know it. Good looking out.
