I got super excited Saturday when I saw packs of Polaroid 600 film at the CVS in Palmyra, until I picked one up and saw it was $20 per pack! Ridiculous.

Honda showed off the new Insight Concept at the Paris Motor Show on October 4th. I don’t like it one bit. It’s huge and looks just like a Prius. What was wrong with the old Insight? Nothing I tell you! It was cute and perfect. Bring it back, please?
I bet it will be an automatic, too. The Insight was the only manual transmission hybrid Honda made. I can’t drive automatics. I do not like them.
Let’s hope the CR-Z turns out okay.
Yeah, that red hurt just a little.
After tattoo date we headed up to Charlottesville to see Dave’s show at The Bridge, where I got to give kiss-kiss-kisses to my Meechie Monster. We walked around the Mall area a bit to see some other First Friday shows, and I spotted a Polaroid “Swinger” Land Camera in the window of a little antiques store. So exciting! It was only $15, could I leave it there?
One of my goals while in Mexico was to score some la loterĂa cards. You would think this would be the easiest thing in the world to do, but let me tell you, it was not. We looked everywhere and never saw them. Lisa asked a lady at a store, and she pointed us to the school supplies store, but alas, they had no idea what I was looking for.
Our last full day in San Miguel involved a last-minute-shopping marathon with OJ (who was getting over mexican sickness). We made our usual walk down towards El Jardin, stopping in various cute places along the way. It was my day of metal. I got scrap metal paintings, Frida and Mary shrines, and cute little metal and tile boxes.
I needed to get rid of all those pesos, ahaha.
I was directing Jared towards the store where I got my mexican house dress, and afterwards we stumbled across an open air market. I realized it was the one Jason was trying to take us to the other day, but the hail came and we sought shelter instead and then forgot about it.
It seemed at first to just be this little block, but as we kept going, so did the market. Going and going and going. It was huge! I found a great store selling calacas for way cheap and packaged for travel. I had wanted one the whole time, but didn’t want to deal with the transport of it.
I picked up a few more metal shrines, my obsession of the day, at a couple of places. Everything at this market was drastically cheaper than the stuff in El Jardin.
Then I found them! We walked past this little stall and I looked down and the floor was covered in loterĂa. Packs and packs of various designs and sizes. I literally screamed TITS! and fell to the floor. It was the most exciting day of my life. I can die a happy girl now.
The (apparent) end of the market was fresh produce and flowers and food stalls. Oh how I wanted to dive into the piles of peppers and cilantro and pomegranates. I need to move to Mexico so my belly can get used to the water down there and I can eat all the fruits and veggies without worry.
OJ was still feeling ill that night, so we just chilled in the courtyard. I spent my last night in Mexico drinking beer, dodging bats, eating doritos, and talking to Albee.
Added a few more items to the shop today. I’m just loving the hell out of those rings. And that red caviar necklace.
AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - The U.S. dollar’s value is dropping so fast against the euro that small currency outlets in Amsterdam are turning away tourists seeking to sell their dollars for local money while on vacation in the Netherlands.
“Our dollar is worth maybe zero over here,” said Mary Kelly, an American tourist from Indianapolis, Indiana, in front of the Anne Frank house. “It’s hard to find a place to exchange. We have to go downtown, to the central station or post office.”
That’s because the smaller currency exchanges — despite buy/sell spreads that make it easier for them to make money by exchanging small amounts of currency — don’t want to be caught holding dollars that could be worth less by the time they can sell them.
The dollar hovered near record lows on Monday, with one euro worth around $1.58 versus $1.47 a month ago.

I just bought two cds from France last week and it cost $50. For two cds. I haven’t even purchased any of the Björk singles from Volta because of the ridiculous exchange rate. And you know that’s bad….
Put some new things up in the shop over the weekend. Maria’s already snatching things up, so if you see something you like, you’d better act quick. :-)
I’ve got some darling new rings I just finished, too. I’m gonna try and get pics of them this afternoon so I can get them up ASAP.
Here’s a preview of some of the goodies I’ll be uploading to the shop soon. It’s hard to find time during the week to get pictures taken, but hopefully Daylight Savings will help me out.
It’s been a tradition with Jared and I that whenever a new Mystery Science Theater 3000 box set comes out, I end up getting it for him. When volume ten came out, I was not happy with him and told him I was not going to buy it for him. He needed to get a job and buy it for himself.
Of course, he never did.
Then volume 11 came out and I picked it up. So we had a hole in the collection, and I kept jabbing him, reminding him that he needed to go buy 10 for himself. He kept holding out, sure that I would cave and buy it for him.
Well, I just recently learned that 10 was pulled off the shelves due to a copyright issue and soon they are releasing volume 10.2. And now ten is a super collector’s edition.
AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
If you know me well enough, you know that this is driving me FUCKING NUTS!
