After work yesterday I drove over to Hampton to pay a surprise visit to my beloved Amanda, who was working late that night. When I got there she wasn’t there. Scott told me she had just left on a break and was headed towards Norfolk. I called her, and she was indeed in Norfolk. She had driven over there to surprise visit me! LOL.

We decided to never try and surprise each other again.

Oh, Isabella Rossellini, you are so damn cute.

Please go watch these now. You won’t regret it.

Being miserable in your own house is the worst feeling ever. I am occupying my time in May by visiting loved ones as much as possible. Then June will involve a major purging on many levels. My outlook is good.

Today while playing with Lu in the “jail farm,” we made a rock band. Since I “did something right,” we got to play in her room and eat a big sheet cake before we had soup and salad with cherry lollipops.

For the party we needed a band, so we made one and I played the slinky and the drums while she played guitar. I had meant to bring my camera up with me, cuz when your playing with Lu, you know magic is sure to occur, but she had rushed me to the party and I didn’t get to grab it. She sang a great song about how she dreamt she was Obi-Wan Kenobi and I was just Atlanta and we liked to watch birds and we did not like spiders.

Phiz caught this video of her a few days beforehand playing a video game with Jar-Jar the Motherfucker.

Yesterday I got to spend the whole day with Anne. She took me out and watched me shop. It was unusually warm yesterday and we were way overdressed. We stopped by Voodoo and I got a banana chocolate peanutty doughnut that was delish! We spent the night at home computering and watching Harry Potter and eating popcorn.

Today I’m moving to Base Camp and hopefully spending the day in parks hugging and kissing my loves.

Take My Picture Fam Study Bug

I arrived in Portland Wednesday morning shortly before 11:00. Rob, Carrie, Sam & Lu met me at the airport and from there we headed back to Base Camp. Lounged around for a bit, had yummy lunch and the best gingerbread gelato, played with Lu, showered, then headed over to little Anne’s.

Anne and I had much needed naps and then we headed out to the show. I was so excited that Basia opened, because I thought she was just doing the East Coast shows. We got there just in time to get right up front and center (my favorite spot). The show was awesome, of course, but it was soooooooo hot in there. By the end of it, Anne and I were dreaming of nothing but refreshing bubbly water. DeVotchKa played a perfect set, and I am beyond thrilled that I still have 2 more shows to see.

House of Louie Amnesia Crow Bar Gang

Yesterday was the grand Old Town Adventure with Rob, Jessica, and Emeka. We made a brief stop at Union Station, where it was very hot, and that’s about it. Then we wandered over to Chinatown and Jessica guided us to House of Louie and we had the world’s best lunch. Seriously, it was so good. I don’t even like Chinese food and I loved it. Emeka even ate chicken feet! Okay, I’m kidding, it was actually quite gross, but we had a blast nonetheless discussing it’s utter grossness.

Rubbo, Tony, and Beth met up with us at House of Louie, and then we all headed over to the China Gardens. Had a leisurely stroll amongst the pretty, then off for more exploring. After Emeka had shown us everything there was to see in Old Town, we settled at Kells for happy hours treats.

From there we migrated to North Mississippi and had drinks at Amnesia, where we were joined by Carlyn and Scott Chapman. I had a delicious summery brew called Castle Blond. We soon met up with Charlotte, Zero, and Carrie and moved onto a new bar.

From there it was all hugs and drinking and good talks and yummy dinner and long strolls and Thriller and awesome bus drivers.

Loving Our Fearless Leader Loving Adventurers

I’ve been staying at Anne’s the past few nights and we have fun at night lying around and passing out to movies. She’s at the gym right now and when she gets back we’re gonna go out exploring. Tonight I’m moving to Base Camp where I will be for the remainder of the trip, and Emeka is taking us out for a Micro Brewery Adventure!

I’m so excited by all the faces I have seen so far, and even better, I still have four more days of this.

(Bonus awesomeness - Charlotte and Zero will be in NYC the same weekend as me. More love!)
